ERIE STEELHEAD
SPRING FISHING
Spring Erie Steelhead can mean colder weather, snow and stream ice. Timing is very important. I mainly fish the extreme western side streams that have Pa and stray Ohio fish. These are usually post-spawn, agressive fish. Mid-March, weather dependent.
FALL FISHING
This has been a "bread & butter" trip for us for many years. Sight fishing for six to ten pound average fish is the norm. Beautiful fall foliage and excellent weather make for a wonderful day on the stream. Watching a Steelhead take your offering and take off like a rocket is an exciting experience. October 6-19, 2012.
DELAWARE RIVER SHAD
Fish the main branch of the upper Delaware, north of Callicoon, NY. Pa or New York licenses are valid. American Shad appear in numbers in mid May and are caught on both spin and fly tackle. A good day can be double digit catches with the added possibility of a few large wild trout. The Delaware is one of the cleanest, free flowing rivers in the east and can offer world class fishing when conditions are right. Being a fairly large body of water, good wading skills and a knowledgeable guide is recommended. May 19-25, 2012
